For long boring transatlantic flights, there’s no better companion than podcasts of the Ricky Gervais show which you can buy at www.audible.com or from the iTunes store. I got the first season podcasts free from the Guardian.co.uk site but that’s no longer available so you’ll have to buy it from Audible or iTunes. Or if you’re sneaky, there’s always BitTorrent.

Ricky Gervais (better known as David Brent, the Regional manager in the UK version of The Office — in my opinion, much funnier than the US or French versions), Steve Merchant and Karl Pilkington (”I could eat a knob at night”) are absolutely hilarious, especially in the first season. Listen to Karl’s “Monkey News” - the one in season 1, part 1 is just precious. It’s hard to find podcasts that make you laugh so hard that your ribs hurt. Season 2 is just as funny.
