One of my favorite writers, Kurt Vonnegut, died at the age of 84 in New York City. I love his novels (Breakfast of Champions, Slaughterhouse Five, among others) and short stories. I really enjoyed his first novel Player Piano, published in 1952. In Player Piano, Vonnegut makes fun of corporate culture and office politics, five decades before The Office, and zooms in on the stupidity of national politics where men become president because they look good and have nice hair.
