Even if you aren’t a Mac fanatic, watch this 20 minute video of the Apple iPhone’s functions. It’s a phone, an iPod and a portable browser at the same time. It has Wi-Fi and cellular wireless connections (although no 3G until the 2008 version comes out). The Apple iPhone is revolutionary. Because it makes browsing, emailing, and sharing information very easy, people will really want access to the Internet everywhere. But not through slow, expensive 2.5G connections, or even 3G where the operators charge you outrageous roaming rates. People will use Wi-Fi on the phone to do that. The demand for ubiquitous Wi-Fi will only increase. More developers will create applications for the iPhone. The mobile Internet will be the hot space this coming year.
