Of all the Valentine’s Day specials I’ve been, this is the best one (from the Guardian):
Germany rail company Deutsche Bahn is running speed-dating at high speed this Valentine’s Day. The Flirtexpresse is running from 15 cities across the country, with passengers being encouraged to change seats every five minutes. And the best part is – the train ride is completely free. Speaking German is certainly advantageous (especially for the online registration), but if you’re after real chemistry, who needs words? Although currently scheduled for just one evening (February 14), demand has been so high that Deutsche Bahn is sure more events will follow. If you’ve got the stamina, it’s certainly more interesting than a book of Suduko. bahn.de/flirt-express (German only)
You have four days to polish up your German grammar and verb conjugations! On the other hand, looking very nice and interested, being friendly and humorous, make up for those der-die-das disasters.

I would love to see the Germans do this! Whenever I was on a train in Germany, people would never talk to each other. The most noise to be had was on the way to Dresden, by a young punk playing his techno.

How did I miss this one?
Would have been real fun, specially changing seats every 5 mins!
But then, I don’t speak German too well and hence as the article says, would have to rely on smiles and signs to get me along.
Cheers to Deutsche Bahn

Oh man that sounds like so much fun. The germans really have it down when it comes to valentine’s day. I don’t speak german that well either but maybe after a few modifications I could turn this in to a cool american based game. Anyway thanks for letting me know!

Speed Dating is really in today. Attaching some twist to it makes it more exciting. Germany’s speed dating in a high speed train is one of the unique concepts in speed dating. It is more exciting compare to the usually concept of just sitting and exchanging dates. This is just one of the many concepts that will come up in speed dating. More twist will be seen in the future will be expected in speed dating.
