Alejandro Valverde wins first stage of Tour de France 2008
5Jul2008 Filed under: Sports Author: Esme VosAlejandro Valverde (Caisse d’Epargne) won the first stage of the Tour de France 2008 in an exciting finish. Valverde came up from behind Kim Kirchen and Philippe Gilbert in the last seconds of the race. Cadel Evans (Silence-Lotto), a favorite in this Tour, came in fourth.
